Sam loves jazz. What type of jazz? Basie said it best: “Four solid beats to the bar and no cheating!” That means Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Duke Ellington, Teddy Wilson... and all that jazz.
She's DJed at some of the biggest events in the lindy hopping world, for crowds as big as 1500 dancers, in ballrooms the size of football fields. But she's also DJed for tiny parties with a handful of dancers. She's DJed on boats in the Danube River, tents in the Swedish countryside, mansions in the Austrian mountains, crowded bars in Seoul, a Spiegeltent in Melbourne, and in the hills of Christchurch.

Sam got into lindy hop in 1998 because she loves jazz. She’s been DJing since 2005, as head DJ at big Australian events, and staff DJ all over the world (including ILHC Asia (2025), Herräng (2025), Snowball (2024), Lindy Focus, Seoul Authentic Jazz Weekend, and Rhythm Korea).
Sam has taught workshops for DJs, from practical sessions wrangling cables and climbing around backstage, to seminars guiding DJs through planning their sets and collecting music.
